solitude
10:50pm 19/10/2006

mood: lonely

I want to fall asleep next to someone.  Someone i care about, but just so i won't be alone. Have you ever thought of how much time each one of us spends alone while we're sleeping?  I'm starting to realize.  Lonely nights.  i shouldn't think this much.  We just weren't made to be solitary beings.

There's something about the look in your eyes
Something I noticed when the light was just right
It reminded me twice that I was alive
And it reminded me that you're so worth the fight

My biggest fear will be the rescue of me
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah

Could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting
Could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting

Theres something about the way you move
I see your mouth in slow motion when you sing
More subtle than something someone contrives
Your movements echo that I have seen the real thing

Your biggest fear will be the rescue of you
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah

Could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting
Could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting

-Echo (Incubus)

So Matt visited Belmont last weekend.  We spent pretty much every waking moment (and some not) together.  Now that he's back at school i'm starting to feel a little empty.  And it's starting to get cold, too.  I honestly don't understand spring fever, relationship-wise.  Obviously the colder months are when a person most needs the physical closeness and comfort of a relationship.
So there are 5 weeks until Thanksgiving.  And then 3-4 weeks after that he'll be home for christmas break.  In the meantime, i'll just...wait?  And maybe knit, too.

It's a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport.  White.  REALLY cute.  Yay.

Although now i've joined the ranks of people who can whine about the price of gas.

But i think i'll be able to deal with that.  : )

Summer 06!
04:12pm 28/06/2006

mood: pleased
I'm so glad school is over and summer is here!  I don't have anything too exciting planned, but i'm looking forward to it anyway.  A few weekends at the cape, a few in NH...very nice.  I'll be working at Play Time a few days a week, so that'll keep me busy.   I've started taking kick boxing lessons at the AMAC in addition to Tokyo Joe's, so i have lessons 5X a week now.  Now that  will keep me really busy.   I'm going to Nh this weekend with my family.  We're leaving friday night (my birthday!!! 17!!!).  I think we'll be there through tuesday, or maybe wednesday.  On suday we're visiting Matt's family at their house in NH.  BBQ, going out on their boat...fun!

so yes, YAY SUMMER!

I saw a double rainbow today...
10:44pm 21/05/2006

mood: sleepy

I've only seen a rainbow once before, and today i saw a double one.  The larger, clearer of the two was a full arc, and you could see all the colors of the spectrum.  The other was more like its shadow.  It was much fainter, and it faded away really quickly.  My dad's side of the family was over today because it was my dad's (and his father's) birthday.  Matt came over too.  Steven found the chess set behind the bar, and he had to drag it out and play.  It actually kept the family busy for a while, at least 5 of us were watching him and my grandfather play.  My grandfather brought a bottle of his wine.  Yes, he and his friend bottle wine in his friend's basement.  Weird hobby.  Yeah, but anyway...my mom offered some to me and Matt, and i said no, but i had a sip of Matt's and then i was glad i said no...ew.  An aquired taste, i suppose, but it's one i doubt i'll ever aquire.
I went to the Burlington mall with Katelyn last night.  It was so long since i'd seen her!  I got a bunch of clothes and then we got dinner.  I got a coldplay cd for my dad, although i don't know if he likes them...oh, and i got purple eyeliner.
Today i cleaned my whole room.  Even my closet.  It took a while, but i really got into it, and now it's really clean.  So i guess it was worth it.
I walked around at Waverly Oaks with Matt today.  That was fun.  There was a ton of dogs.  I'm sure i saw two yorkies, and there were two old golden retrievers (Bonnie and Clyde hahah) who came up to us and demanded attention.

I ordered a Cornell sweatshirt as a graduation present for Matt.  It came in yesterday.  Now his birthday is in less than a month, and i've already exhausted my present ideas.  What should i get him?  It's his 18th birthday, so it's kind of a big deal...

And WTF, my mom is vacuuming.  Doesn't she have any sense of time???

mood: loved
Well tonight was fun. More fun, in my opinion, than prom was last night. Sure, prom was a good time, but it was way too stressful/cost a TON/overrated. Got my hair curled at 3...it started to frizz after a 1/2 hour. Honestly, i put it up about an hour after we got there because it was getting so BIG.
Tons of family came over my house before, to take pictures. It was kind of embarassing, i had both grandmothers over, as well as my aunt and my uncle and cousins (who live across the street) and my sister had two friends over. Then there were my parents, and then Matt and his parents...i think there were 14 or 15 people over in total. Yeah. A lot. Oh, and there were at least 5 different cameras. We finally managed to escape them all, and Matt's parents drove us to the Allens' house, where the limo (and our towncar) would be picking us up. More pictures, this time as a group. All of the other girls seemed taller than me lol. And even with 2" heals, i don't think i even came up to Matt's chin (i'm only 5'1", and he's 10 inches taller than me...)I'll post some of the pictures later, they came out really well. Then the limo showed up, and we took pictures in front of that. In all, i think i had more than 200 pictures taken of me. Right, so they all got into the limo (and matt and i got into our separate car, because the person in charge of taking care of the limo plans overbooked it, and we got ousted and had to find something else. but whatever, that's fine). Our driver's name was Monty. Tee hee.
Arrived at the Sheraton in Boston after sitting in traffic for a while (we think it was because of the Red Sox game). Then we followed the group of people from our school upstairs. Got checked in, and mingled. Twas fun. I saw a disturbing amount of my old teachers who were chaperoning. Got to make sure we kids don't cause too much trouble, eh? lol. Next came dinner, which was pretty good. And more socializing (OMG, i LOVE your DRESS! ::or:: ahh! you look SO pretty! ::or:: wow, your hair looks GREAT!...etc.) Then we got to dancing of course. That was just eh, not terribly exciting. They played "Piano Man" as the last song for the seniors. Then prom ended at 11.
Monty drove us back to Matt's house, since we only had the car until 12. Matt got changed out of his tux, then he drove to my house so i could change my shoes, which were KILLING me. We met the rest of the limo gang at IHOP around 12:30 (they had the limo until 1). They were all finished with eating when we got there, so Matt and i didn't have time to get anything. It was kind of a waste, so we decided we would come back another time.
Went back to Matt's house and eventually fell asleep on his couch. oops. One of us (no idea if it was me or him) woke up around 3, and he drove me home. Which is unfortunately still illegal, since he won't be 18 until next month. oops again.
I woke up around 12 the next day, cleaned my room, made my mom 3 bracelets for mother's day, took a shower.. Then Matt came over and we went back to his house and had hot chocolate. We played with his sister's cat and played helicopter online and then we had dinner with the rest of his family. After dinner we had more hot chocolate, and then we got bored and went to video plus, but we didn't find anything too appealing so we went back to his house and browsed his sister's movie collection. We decided on the matrix revolution, which i had never seen before. It was ok, but i liked the 1st one better.
At around 11:45 we left for my house, and Matt says he's hungry and really wants bacon, and he says he feels like going to IHOP. I said yeah, let's go, even though my parents would probably get kind of angry. So yeah. We went to IHOP.
We got there around 12, and there was a surprising number of people there even though it was so late. Got our food, discussed how much potential trouble we would be in by breaking his 12 o'clock driving curfew (yet again!). When he dropped me off, it was a little bit past 1. The front door was open, and i thought i was going to be in trouble for being out so late. Turns out i was wrong; my parent's were both asleep, although my dad had fallen asleep downstairs. He woke up for a brief moment, and instead of asking what i was doing home so late, he told me to turn off the lights outside and to make sure i locked the front door. Honestly, i could get away with murder, my parents trust me so much. Not that i give them any reason not to (...not really, anyway...).

And now i'm here! and it's time for bed. goodnight.

The dance last night was amazing!  The bands were great, the movie projector was cool, and the people who were there are awesome!!! : )  Good job to all of you who helped plan it.

Made my day. Much thanks to J.K. Rowling for clarifying that for me.

4. I will try to name a single word that best describes you.
5. I'll tell you the most memorable moment I've had with you.
6. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. Put this in your journal.

Also: last night was fun. I got a cute skirt. and other things. Spending time with Jenna was awsome, i'll have to call her soon.

krispy kremes should not be allowed to taste so good. It should be a rule.

This weekend was too short....didnt do very much but here it goes:

Friday: went swimming! I don't know why, but it made me feel really happy. I'll definately be going again this week sometime.

Saturday: Left for NH. Stopped at Applebee's for lunch. Arrived at our house and settled in for a while. Went out to see a movie at around 7, then when we got the the theater we realized the next showing wasnt until 9:20. We went to Weir's beach to spend the time...checked out all the little shops. In one i saw a t-shirt that said "Its not a bald spot, its a solar panel that powers a sex machine"....that kept me amused for a good 20 minutes. We saw Monster in Law afterwards, i thought it was decent. Jennifer Lopez was gorgeous, as usual. We got back to the house around 11:30...stayed up until 3 reading The Compass Rose.

Sunday: Woke up at 12:30. no kidding. I can't remember the last time i've ever slept that late. Didn't do anything besides read all day and watch Mean Girls for the 6th time. I finished The Compass Rose....it was bizarre...and it still leaves questions unanswered....that drvies me insane. That night we watched Titanic, because it was the only thing that was on the 3 stations that actaully come in clearly. Its such a good movie...Oh, and i decided that Leonardo DiCaprio is much prettier than Kate Winslet.

Monday: Got up a little earlier (9:30). We left around 11. Stopped for breakfast for a while, then got home around 2.

And now i'm home, dreading school tomorrow. How many days are left?
